Another Fan Website? (Or Why We're Here)

Fandoms can suck. Fans, united and feeding off each other, snipe at producers and studios for not putting out the exact cut of a movie they want. They chase actors off social media. They tell parents to take down pictures of their happy 18-month-old kids because the costumes aren’t quite right. They bully writers for any number of reasons. And they attack fans who aren’t as deep into their hobby as they are.
The world needs fewer gatekeepers. If you want to know about something, you shouldn’t be punished by fans for trying to learn. You shouldn’t be mocked, and you shouldn’t be criticized for not knowing everything there is to know about a subject. There’s no “minimum standard” you have to meet to be a fan of anything, and if anyone tells you that you’ve failed to meet it, the problem’s theirs, not yours. You shouldn’t have to live your life for your entertainment. It’s there for you to make your life more fun.
The world needs more gateways. You don’t need or want to know absolutely everything about what you’re watching, but you want to know enough to get what’s happening, to enjoy what you’re reading or watching more. You don’t need to be drawn into too much minutia. You just want to know enough. That’s what we’re here for. Currently, we have people ready to be your gateway into classic movies, comics, and pro wrestling. We’ll be adding more writers and more subjects as we go on.
